Variable Capacity Tank (VCT)

The Variable Capacity Tank (VCT)—also known as a Closed Top Tank—is ideal for wineries seeking both versatility and precision. When wine is not protected by a lid and airlock, it risks oxidation and contamination. The VCT mitigates these risks with its floating lid and air-sealed system, allowing winemakers to safely ferment varying batch sizes without compromising quality.

Constructed from premium SS304 stainless steel, the tank features a polished internal and external surface (roughness ≤ 0.6 μm) for maximum cleanliness and sanitation. Every joint is 100% TIG welded, ground smooth, and surface passivated to ensure long-term durability and corrosion resistance.

Key design features include a flat 3% slope bottom for effective drainage, four sturdy legs with adjustable feet for stability, and a 466 mm high dimple cooling jacket (1.5 mm thick) with 1” NPT glycol inlet and outlet for precise temperature control. The floating lid with European-made gasket and lifting system, combined with a high-quality air pump, provides adjustable capacity and airtight protection.

Convenience and usability are enhanced with a side rectangular manhole (435×335 mm) for easy access, air vent (2”), drainage and outlet ports (2” with valve and clamp), racking arm, ½” sample valve, and two lifting lugs for handling.

Because winemakers only get one chance per harvest, the Variable Capacity Tank ensures that every batch is protected, consistent, and high-quality—whether used for small-lot fermentation or full-scale winery operations.
